Dear Valued Member,
We have deeply missed our members during our closure and we can’t wait to welcome you back. I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to re-open our Y based on the guidelines issued by the State of New Jersey and the Centers for Disease Control. We remain committed to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our community.
We are thrilled to now be offering in-person outdoor group exercise classes and personal training at our Park Street facility. I am also excited to share that on Monday, August 3, our pools will offer water exercise, special swim hours for vulnerable populations, and lap swim. I know that some of our members have been waiting eagerly for this announcement, and we can’t wait to have them back in the pool. All of these activities are available by registration only in our new MotionVibe program.
As our member programming grows, we want to provide an update about your membership going forward.
For those members who participate in our #StayWithUs campaign, we want to thank you again for helping our Y during this difficult time.
- If you choose to come to the Y to take advantage of our programming, a portion of your monthly fees will be converted from a donation to membership fees. Please fill out the membership survey by clicking the link below.
- If you choose not to return to the Y at this time your entire monthly fee will remain a tax-deductible donation. No action is required.
For those members who have memberships on hold, here is what will happen with your membership going forward:
- Members who are not registered in MotionVibe and not opting to access outdoor group exercise and/or aquatics will remain on hold. No action is required.
- Members who have registered for an account on MotionVibe must fill out the brief survey below regarding membership. The survey link will also be available in MotionVibe. In August, for those members who are accessing outdoor group exercise and/or aquatics, we will have their memberships activated at 50% of their usual monthly charge and a draft will be drawn on August 14th. Membership staff will contact you via email to remind you that your credit card will be charged. If your credit card needs to be updated, please login into your Y account portal or call the Y at 973-744-3400 between 10 am and 3 pm.
It has been great to see so many of our Y members begin to return to the Y in recent weeks, and we are looking forward to welcoming more members this month as we open the pools and expand our programming. I hope you will be one of them.
During this time, the YMCA of Montclair has continued to serve our community through emergency childcare, food distributions, blood drives, PPE collection, and senior wellness checks with limited resources. If you will consider reactivating your membership at 100%, we will use the other 50% as a donation to support needed community programs and to help members who need financial assistance to access to our Y. If you have questions, please contact our Chief Development Officer Anneke Demarest at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For information on what is currently open at the Y and how to sign up for MotionVibe, please go to montclairymca.org/reopening. Please note the YMCA of Montclair is currently only allowing members 16 and over to enter the facility.
If you need assistance, please contact Senior Director of Membership Lisa Kievit at email@example.com. We are here to help.
I want to thank you for staying with our Y. Our community is stronger together and we remain here for you. We look forward to seeing you soon!
