10 Weeks to 10k
The 10 Weeks to 10k Program is a ten-week training program for the Montclair Run 10k, to be held on June 4, 2023. The program begins on March 27, 2023, and ends on the day of the race. Participants receive registration for the 10k run (value $45), a ten-week training plan designed for beginner to intermediate runners, access to a private Facebook group for support and encouragement, and the option to participate in up to three guided group runs per week for the duration of the plan. During the training plan, participants will be able to schedule a session with a personal trainer to evaluate their run stride and learn recovery and strength exercises. In addition, the registrants can choose to run a local 5k race (at their own expense) or do a guided fitness assessment at Edgemont Park to set clear race goals. The plan includes cross-training, rest, recovery, and specialized workouts, which will be self-guided and overseen by instructors.
