The YMCA of Montclair Progressive Swim Program teaches under the guidelines of the National YMCA Program. The program uses a holistic approach which includes personal safety, stroke development and building confidence. Additionally, we build self-esteem and values, while encouraging students to have fun while learning to swim. We offer group, private and semi-private lessons. The Park Street facility has two heated indoor 25-yard pools with temperatures appropriate for each level of teaching and/or recreation.
New students to the group lesson program must be evaluated for proper placement prior to registering. Swim level evaluation times are: Monday-Friday 3:00-5:00 and Saturday 9:00-1:00. All students must be YMCA members. Click here for membership fees.
To ensure that our class sizes stay at optimum teacher/student ratios, programs must be registered for in person. We don’t accept phone reservations. We encourage early registration as all classes are filled on a first come, first basis.
Thank you for considering the YMCA Montclair Aquatic Program for your child.
