Black History Celebration—a partnership between the YMCA of Montclair and the Montclair Art Museum. Following a display of African American ancestors born before Emancipation, members of the Y and MAM’s African American Culture Committee will give personal reflections. Dr. Linda Caldwell Epps, Dr. Shirley A. R. Lewis, Sharon Dennis Wyeth and Valerie Wilson Wesley.

The story of the African American athlete Jesse Owens, who won a record- breaking four gold medals at the Berlin Olympics Games in 1936. Introduced by Dr. Roosevelt Weaver with discussion to follow.
