ASPIRE (Achieving Sobriety by Promoting an Insightful Recovery Experience) is a pilot program developed by the YMCA of Montclair and the National Youth Recovery Foundation (NYRF), and funded in part by Partners for Health Foundation.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 30 and have six months or more of recovery from addiction to drugs or alcohol, ASPIRE is a program designed for you.
ASPIRE is a community based life-skill oriented program that is not associated with treatment, aftercare, Alcoholics Anonymous or any other recovery program. Life, health and community are key components of ASPIRE.
The curriculum, designed by the NYRF, is based on interviews with hundreds of young people in recovery across the country. These young people identified a need for a community based program to fill in gaps around life skills, education and career planning that they missed while in active addiction. They recommended a focus on their next phase of life, outside of their recovery program, that provided additional skill sets to enhance their lives including social, education and career goals.
